A Full Moon in Libra will grace us this Thursday – and brilliance, creativity and intuition are on the rise. While the Sun is in me-oriented Aries opposite the Moon in we-oriented Libra it’s an appropriate time to observe your place in the collective, and to consider the needs of others, in tandem with your own. Jupiter, representing the adventures that come while seeking truth, makes key aspects to both Sun and Moon, uniting their apparent tug-of-war. His sextile to Sun and trine to Moon suggest that knowing your value, and what you have to contribute to the group assists you in making connections with those who have a role to play in helping you achieve your goals. A flowing trine between Luna and intuitive Neptune (in conjunction with healing Chiron) helps you read people’s energy, beyond surface appearances. In a sense, recognizing your kin is easy now, though there’s no benefit to placing them on a guru-like pedestal. The savior you recognize in another is your own compassionate nature being reflected back at you.
There’s a lovely symmetry at work during this Full Moon: On the same day, Mercury moves into Taurus – ruled by Venus, just as Libra is. After the cosmic messenger’s tour through speedy Aries, its transit of earthy Taurus is likely to be experienced as a slow waddle in comparison. Speech and thoughts slow down somewhat, and concerns with securing stability mount. Mercury’s trine to Pluto helps you find riches in the rubble of those decaying aspects of your life. By the end of this week, Pluto will have been retrograde for seven days. Between now and September, the experience of shedding your old skin intensifies. The trine from Mercury enhances your ability to see beneath the surface. On the other hand, Venus retrograde square Pluto retrograde can coincide with looking for a quick fix that won’t come without a great deal of concentrated effort. Pretty much the antithesis of a quick fix. Trying to force or manipulate a situation that isn’t manifesting quickly enough for you will likely just undermine any progress and goodwill you’ve built up.
With that in mind, there are a few other landmines to watch out for during this portal. Mars (representing Divine Will and individual assertion) is in a cranky quincunx aspect with the Full Moon. Because the irritability factor is getting turned up a notch or ten, it’s quite helpful to relieve any tension you may experience, through physical outlet. Proceed slower than usual, and maintain awareness of your physical environment. Mars in Pisces can sometimes space out and ignore environmental boundaries, resulting in injuries. In the words of gifted songwriter and balladeer Jason Mraz: “Live high; live mighty; live righteously, taking it easy.” (Live High from We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things) What a great remedy for Mars in Pisces quincunx Moon in Libra.
Taking it easy is all the more defined by Mars in opposition to Saturn retrograde. It’s very popular in astrology to malign Saturn. In fact, Saturn and Mars are labeled the malefic planets. Yet, for all the restrictions that a Saturn experience can bring, it also maintains the structure in your life. Imagine your body without its skeleton; that skeleton holding you together is Saturn. Sometimes what we perceive as a confining experience is a supportive one in disguise. It helps to know your harness is secure before you go rock-climbing, yes? (And, by the way, that’s an excellent activity to work out some of this energy!) While Sun is in a frictional quincunx to Saturn retrograde, it’s a matter of perception as to whether you experience yourself on a short leash, or in a life-saving harness. Perceiving the difference (or altering your mind-set, which Sun sextile Jupiter will aid) helps you to thrive through the building conjunction between Mars and Uranus. These two planets in combination crave excitement – and the faster, the better. The movie title The Fast And The Furious is an apt description of how Mars and Uranus can manifest. Fun on a dance floor, dangerous on a freeway. Know your boundaries, your environment, and your audience. Nervous and emotional energy tends to peak during a Full Moon anyway, and the union between these two hell-raisers will only amplify that energy. A little caffeine goes a long way (especially for those of you born with planets in the last ten degrees of mutable signs), and a mind-body routine will do wonders to restoring your equilibrium - something a Full Moon in Libra can smile about.
May your dearest dreams manifest at this Full Moon.

Michelle,
I shall be the first to post a comment and to commend on the energetic articulations pontificated upon. A very good reading of what I have been feeling intuitively and appreciated the wordsmithing of another to help coalesce and distill. Many blessings to you and your Piscean perspective…or is that progressed Aries kicking in yet:?
Carson
Thank you, Carson. And yes – Progressed Aries is very much kicking
