We’re still under the influence of Tuesday’s Full Moon in Scorpio, and the energy’s not about to lighten up. In fact, we’re all going a little deeper these days. That’s bound to happen when you connect a cluster of planets with Pluto, Lord of the Underworld. If it all sounds a little intense, well it is. But getting down to the raw essentials and bare facts is a relatively easy process now. You can thank the flowing energy from Mercury, Venus and Mars in Taurus to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn for that.
Let’s break it down: Mercury governs the mental processes, as well as communication in all of its various forms. When Mercury makes a gentle trine to Pluto the mind is able to strip the veneer and ‘see’ what’s always been there, hidden in plain sight. Astute observations, coupled with a deep sense of knowing are the gifts of this cosmic flow.
Venus rules the pleasure principal, and behaves in accordance with the law of attraction. Her main principal is Love. Do what you do with love, and doors will open. Venus’ trine to powerful Pluto suggests that some mighty big doors may swing open to those who operate from Love – even if those doors were previously sealed shut.
Meanwhile, Mars is about action and will. Although he’s not entirely in his comfort zone (in spite of his tender union with Venus), Mars in Taurus still has a lot of momentum, owing to the speed he gained while transiting his home sign of Aries. He’s operating on inertia, given that Taurus is a fixed sign and can stay in a groove until something interrupts that inertia. It’s worth noting that Mars and Pluto are connected, inasmuch as Pluto is the higher octave of Mars. They sing the same note, but an octave apart. So, whereas Mars gets you in touch with your personal ambition, Pluto’s vibration raises that ambition so that it may be channeled towards deeds that benefit all.
With that in mind, see your connection to the Earth. You are a microcosm of this planet – indeed, you are a mini universe unto yourself. If Pluto describes the macrocosm or culture and planet, then Mars describes you as the microcosm. With sustained effort to cleanse your emotional residue and physical ailments, it filters down into a similar healing effect on our beloved planet.
One of the benefits of Mars’ trine to Pluto retrograde is an ability to ‘drill down’ into deep issues with courage and stamina. Add the complementary effects of Mercury and Venus, and it offers the hope that some of your inner work may involve connecting your personality with your soul, so that your deeds (Mars), along with your words (Mercury) and values (Venus) are aligned with the deeper needs of your true self, that of your soul.
Seen from this level of reality, the ability to keep on keepin’ on is fueled by an eternal connection to Source. Doors will open indeed – perhaps even the gates to Heaven on Earth.
