When Venus is in the sign of Virgo, we connect to the simple pleasures in life. Now that Venus is connecting with Pluto, that appreciation deepens. Life is richer and more meaningful.

As Venus makes her way through Virgo she makes a tight and harmonious connection with Lord of the Underworld, Pluto. In this arrangement (called a trine), mutable earth (Virgo) meets cardinal earth (Capricorn), and the ability to make adjustments comes more easily now than it did earlier in the summer. This enables a rich new beginning, with the ability to make fuller use of all your resources.

When Venus meets up in an agreeable angle with Pluto the energy can manifest in many ways. Those who need deep healing may easily tap into their powers of regeneration now. You may also note that people seem to delight in sharing soul-based power by giving of themselves – whether that shows up as donating time, energy, food, money, or a recommendation for someone who needs help finding meaningful work. Gratitude for one’s blessings is also easy to feel and express now.

This peaceful energy is all set against the noisy backdrop of Mars in Cancer square Saturn in Libra. Although Venus’ energy may help keep the peace, there is potential for emotional upheaval (Mars in Cancer), particularly if you feel constrained by someone else’s agenda (Saturn in Libra). Think of this inner angst as a prod to move you into a new choice or turning point. If you’re unaccustomed to speaking your truth, do you need to assert yourself if you’re feeling hemmed in? Or if you’re usually able to stand up for yourself, might you need to back off a bit and find a conciliatory path?

Although the square aspect bears the stamp of inner turmoil, if you use its energy in a creative way, you can tap into the emotional power (Mars in Cancer) that can accompany taking a team-minded approach (Saturn in Libra). Saturn is exalted in Libra, while Mars is in fall in Cancer. In a nutshell, Saturn has greater strength in this planetary pairing. If you feel a bit intimidated by lots of heavy-hitters in your arena, then Saturn’s vibe can bring you out of your protective shell (described by Cancer the Crab) and into a wider ring (Saturn) of people-power (Libra). Now that’s what I call sharing the power.

And, as it happens, Saturn is in the sign that lady Venus rules. As she reaches out to the Darth Vader of the solar system, I dare say that if Venus can make peace with the bad boys, so can we all.
