The clash of the old and new is with us, and we are still in the portal of the New Moon in rebellious yet humanitarian Aquarius. Perhaps you want to propel yourself, but feel stalled with Mars newly retrograde. Maybe you’ve experienced a recent setback within a group or organization. Contact me if you’d like some guidance on how to move forward.

I’ve written a poem that riffs on the Aquarian theme of the collective, the turbulent times we live in, and the risks we take together:

The Gathering

In a secret room they gathered:

The dissidents,

the radicals,

the revolutionaries.

Large in number they were,

yet intent to meet on

equal ground.

Old, young,

shapes,

colours,

inclinations as diverse as

the souls gathered there.

No moonlight to betray

their movement.

Stealthy they were.

But when passion is flared

the voices rise.

It is dangerous, no?

How to

contain

a small army?

How to

prevent them from

seeding destruction?

The Authorities.

The Authorities would know.

Masters of

quelling violence,

The Authorities

marched silently

to the unmarked door.

Ears pressed

against it,

they collected

their damning evidence

from the mouths of those

who would unravel

the fabric

of common society.

“What is this roar?

Did we hear the rabble

claim they will do

mighty things?

Smite the Innocent,

will they?”

To serve and protect,

The Authorities

burst

into the secret room.

“We have uncovered

your rancid plot!”

Cuffed hands.

Chained feet.

En masse to detention

the dangerous ones

were sent.

Bovine

to the abattoir

were they.

Empty of violent persons,

now the secret room

could be searched for

proof of treason.

And there it lay;

On a precariously balanced

table in the corner:

A Book.

A Manifesto.

Seizing upon it,

The Authorities

ripped into its pages.

“See here!” cried one.

“The proof we need is

contained within

these words.”

Aloud he read

the damning passage:

Will you love the waters?

Will you tread kindly on the earth?

Will you make a difference?

Sometimes the Cosmos expresses itself through the human channel as poetry. Or song. Or drawing or painting. Or dance or chanting. If you’ve got an artistic something you’d like to share with the world, I invite your contributions! Please email me with your submission if you would like your offering posted here. It would be especially helpful if you would include the date and time of your inspiration, so that we can appreciate the manner in which the planetary transits are working through you. Let’s learn from each other and create together.
